Love, Rachel John
The face behind Rajo's, Hi
I’m Rachel John, a 23-year-old from Amsterdam. I grew up in a small town near Amsterdam called Weesp. My hobbies mean the world to me, which is why I have so many! I love playing the piano, painting, cooking, singing, running, and playing hockey. But my two absolute favorites are kickboxing and surfing. These activities really helped me through my absolute low moments, so they hold a special place in my heart.
I started posting on social media back in 2019, mainly because I didn’t have many friends at the time, and YouTube felt like a place where I could build a beautiful community around the things I was passionate about.
Building a community has always been important to me, and I wanted to expand that connection beyond the online world. That’s why I started Rajo’s.
How I started Rajo’s
I always had a dream to create an online community that wasn’t focused on fitness. Just a space to make you feel good. Because, at the end of the day, isn’t that what we all want in life? But I didn’t know how to start; after all, I was only 19 years old.
Now, let’s talk about the name Rajo’s. Why Rajos? Well, I’m Rachel John, and I thought it sounded cool. No judgment, okay? If you have a better name in mind, feel free to send me a direct message.
It all began with a solo surf trip to Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, in 2021. I went there alone to learn how to surf and ended up doing all kinds of activities, which I shared on social media. To my surprise, people loved following along with my journey. Soon after, hundreds of women were showing up at the same lodge where I’d stayed, telling the manager they wanted the same experience I had. That’s when we thought, “Why not create a camp?” And that’s how Rajo’s Surf Camp was born.
Now we’re expanding to more camps in different locations, with so much more to come! It will all unfold with time and patience.
If I were to pick six words to describe it, these are the ones I’d choose. We also made our own icons:

Sisterhood
A Sisterhood – It’s also about creating a community among women. I have seen how friendships have formed, and I can tell you that this is special. The bond is so strong, and I think it’s because we share the same interests – we all face our fears, try new things, and step out of our comfort zones together.

Surf
Learning a sport that’s incredibly challenging but rewarding every time. You’ll feel the power of nature and a deep connection. The joy of riding a wave and the adrenaline rush through your body give you natural highs.
Blank
Selflove
A journey to discover who you want to be, gain realizations about life, and learn how to love yourself again.
Blank
Healing
Getting away from everyday stress, reconnect with yourself, and find inner answers about your current life.

Fight
When you fight for what you want, you get hit, but each blow makes you stronger. Fighting teaches you discipline to never give up, even when it hurts. Your mind proves stronger than you realize.

Grow
By traveling and learning new things, you broaden your horizons, gain fresh insights, and grow as a person.
